US WWII LC-14-B Victor Tool, Woodsman's Pal Machete & Manual
U.S. Military LC-14-B Woodman's Pal survival axe/machete. It was originally designed for civilian use in 1941 but was quickly adopted by the military and became standard issue from World War II through the Vietnam War.
This set is includes the original canvas sheath with working zipper and snap. Inside the sheath is a original 1944 maintenance booklet. The tool itself is in good condition with tight handle and no major damage to the blade.
Designation: The military designation was "Knife LC-14-B" (Land Clearing). The example pictured includes the original canvas sheath and the "Care, Use and Sharpening" booklet, often with "Frederick Ehrsam Co." or "Victor Tool Co." markings.
Purpose: It is a versatile "all-in-one" tool that combines features of an axe and a machete, designed for clearing brush, chopping wood, trimming, and pruning. The unique hooked tip functions as a chisel-sharp sickle for clearing vines and pulling cut brush.
