This is the third pattern of haversack to be produced as part of the 1908 pattern webbing equipment. Introduced in 1914, it became the most prolific pattern issued throughout the Great War. The haversack is constructed from the standard heavy-duty webbing used by the British Army during this period and features brass hardware throughout. The underside of the flap bears the original maker’s stamp along with the clear 1915 date.
